Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lam 3:23 (NLT)

Sometimes, living in the Northeast, we may question whether the sun even exists because of the persistent rain and thorough cloud cover. May we be clear on a couple of facts? The sun rises daily at dawn and sets in the evening whether we can see it or not. It really is up there!  A more interesting factor to note is this: The hour just before our daily sun rise is usually the coldest and darkest.  The photo we see here was shot at Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, in Maine.  At 1,530 feet, it’s the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard and the first place to view sunrise in the United States from October 7 through March 6.

We use the phrase “just dawned on me” to describe an awakening that transcends our natural senses.  When something dawns on us, we don’t see it with our physical eyes, smell it with our nose, hear it with our ears, touch it with our fingers or taste it with our tongue. It’s a revelation that gifts us from within, not something we discover beyond our external boundary. In today’s Message, may this be the case, where we have the deepest and highest truth or revelation dawn upon us.

Is it by coincidence that the final book of the Bible is the Revelation of Jesus Christ and that Jesus refers to Himself as the Morning Star? (Rev 1:1, 22:17)  Is it by some happenstance that even if our life seems rainy or cloudy, the hope and light of our day is realized in the intimacy and nourishing truth of God’s love in our heart? Please consider this question: Is the faithful rising and setting of the physical sun and the rising of God’s Son after being set in a grave an accidental parallel or His divine Providence?

Only the deepest and highest truth or revelation to dawn or light upon us can purify our hearts, renew and clear our minds, and bring peace, comfort, joy, and calm to our senses. In faith, He’s our Revelator, Savior, Redeemer, Father, Lord, Counselor, Morning Star and our soon coming King… His name is Jesus Christ, the Son we believe rises and never sets within us daily and forever.

Family and friends–keep going, learning, and growing!  As the world gets spiritually darker and colder in this last hour, let’s rest in scriptural hope, not secular lessons or media hype.  Let it dawn on us that the light we truly need is the resplendent glory that comes from God our Creator and His Word; the illumination to see heartfelt truth Himself and the love He has for each of us to grace our day.
